The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has banned cash salary payments for teachers in privatized schools. All salaries will now be paid online or through bank accounts, as reported by 24NewsHD TV.
A recent PEF notification confirmed this change, emphasizing that salary records will be tracked via the Teachers’ Information System for better transparency. Schools failing to follow this new rule risk losing their licenses.
The first phase of this initiative involves over 5,000 schools and 10,000 teachers in Punjab. It aims to streamline payments and ensure accountability in the education system.
