Patakha Pictures is a funding and mentorship grant in partnership with two-time Academy Award winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. From directing and producing Oscar-winning films, to founding a multi-year platform to support the voices of marginalized minorities, Obaid Chinoy has dedicated her life to telling stories that matter. Patakha Pictures is a unique opportunity for aspiring female filmmakers to access the wealth of experience that her production house, SOC Films, has to offer.

Our mission is to create and support the community of the next generation of female filmmakers. We want to hear your stories. Big or small, Patakha Pictures wants imaginative stories that push the boundaries of how we perceive the world and ourselves. We are the first platform of this scale that is available to Pakistani women, and we are here to transform your visions into tangible realities.

Filmmaking has never been easy, and that’s why we are here to help. We support you beginning until end: whether it is developing your initial idea, providing the funds needed, creative development and feedback, or marketing and publicity. We know there’s talent to be unearthed all over Pakistan, and want to listen to those changemakers who have something to say.
