LAHORE – Students in Lahore’s schools and other educational institutions are set to enjoy a three-day break, starting from August 24.
A recent notification by the authorities announced a local holiday in the Lahore district on August 26 (Monday) to observe the annual Urs of Saint Ali Hajveri, also known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.

According to the new policy by the Punjab School Education Department, schools already observe two weekly holidays—Saturday and Sunday. This week, as these days fall on August 24 and 25, students will have an extended weekend, with schools remaining closed on August 26 for the local holiday. As a result, students in Lahore will enjoy three consecutive holidays from August 24 to 26.
